Damien Sanford

Damien is a senior energy and infrastructure executive with 20+ years' experience delivering commercial, operational and system outcomes across Australia's energy sector.

As Partner at Celero, he leads the firm's strategic direction and the development of next-generation Digital Energy Hubs, integrating Australia's energy and digital infrastructure. He has delivered multi-billion-dollar pipelines, complex grid and digital connections, and capital-intensive projects across renewables, energy markets and large-scale infrastructure.

Recognised for his strategic leadership at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), he previously served as Chief Operations Officer, overseeing the $20bn National Electricity Market, the national transmission grid and key east-coast gas systems, enabling large-scale renewable integration. He has also held executive leadership roles including COO of Tilt Renewables and General Manager Infrastructure at AusNet Services, where he was responsible for the delivery of major transmission and network infrastructure across Victoria.
